Man accidentally shoots himself in Aiken hotel, is taken to hospital

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Aiken Department of Public Safety has confirmed that a man accidentally shot himself at an Aiken hotel, late Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Officials say at 11:30 p.m. they responded to a shooting at the Sleep Inn located at 1002 Monterey Drive.
The incident caused the man to be transported to the hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
This is the second self-inflicted shooting this week in South Carolina.
Late Thursday, a man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and a woman was injured in a shooting on Henry Street in Augusta.
