COVID-19 vaccine: Where you can get a shot in 2-state region

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - As the COVID-19 vaccine continues to be distributed, many are beginning to wonder where they’ll be able to receive it. Anyone age 16 and over can be vaccinated, although not all brands are approved for people under 18.

Public testing locations

  • East Central Public Health District Office, 1916 North Leg Road, Augusta: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Same-day registration available: https://covid19.dph.ga.gov/en-US/.
  • Augusta University Medical Center, 524 15th St., Augusta: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Register on site or at https://ecphd.com/aumc-covidtesting.
  • Emanuel Medical Center, Meadow Center Building, 543 W. Church St., Swainsboro: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Registration at https://honumg.info/LTSGA014.
  • Jenkins County Medical Center, 931 E. Winthrope Ave., Millen: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday: Register at https://honumg.info/LTSGA013.

Antibody testing

  • Effective Sept. 26, every blood donor at Shepeard Community Blood Center is being screened for COVID-19 antibodies. Donors will be notified if they test positive.

Georgia vaccination locations

  • The Emanuel County Health Department will hold walk-in flu and COVID19 vaccinations from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 23 at 50 Highway 56 North in Swainsboro.
  • The Richmond County Health Department will offer COVID 19 vaccinations weekdays from 5-7 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. at the Georgia Carolina State Fair, Oct. 14-24. Free fair admission will be available to anyone when they get their COVID 19 vaccine on site.

Augusta vaccine incentive

In an effort to increase the number of individuals to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the city of Augusta will host several mobile clinics throughout October, November and December. Richmond County residents who become fully vaccinated at any of these events qualify to receive the city’s $100 incentive. Here’s the schedule:

  • Oct. 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bernie Ward Community Center, 1941 Lumpkin Road
  • Oct. 28 from 4-6 p.m. at the Augusta Aquatic Center, 3157 Damascus Road
  • Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the James Brown Arena, 601 Seventh St.
  • Nov. 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the Warren Road Community Center, 300 Warren Road
  • Nov. 6 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Henry Brigham Community Center, 2463 Golden Camp Road
  • Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Robert Howard Community Center, 103 Diamond Lakes Way
  • Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Augusta Mall, 3450 Wrightsboro Road
  • Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jamestown Community Center nd Park, 3647 Karleen Road
  • Dec. 4 from noon to 4 p.m. at Carrie J. Mays Family Life Center, 1014 11th Ave.

East Central Health District locations

  • Burke County Health Department, 114 Dogwood Drive Waynesboro: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Closed every fourth Thursday for training.
  • Glascock County Health Department, 668 West Main St., Gibson: Every 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays.
  • Lincoln County Health Department, 176 N. Peachtree St., Lincolnton: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Fridays.
  • Screven County Health Department, 416 Pine St., Sylvania: 8-11:30 a.m. and 12:15-3:45 p.m. Tuesdays.
  • Wilkes County Health Department, 204 Gordon St., Washington: 8-11:30 a.m. Thursdays.
  • Columbia County Health Department, 1930 William Few Parkway, Grovetown: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Jefferson County Health Department, 2501 Highway 1 Louisville: 8:30-11:30 a.m. Thursdays.
  • McDuffie County Health Department, 307 Greenway St., Thomson: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays.
  • Taliaferro County Health Department, 109 Commerce St. NW, Crawfordville: 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays.
  • Emanuel County Health Department, 50 Highway 56 North, Swainsboro: 9-10 a.m. Mondays and Fridays.
  • Jenkins County Health Department, 709 Virginia Ave., Millen: 9 a.m.-11:15 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
  • Richmond County Health Department, 2420 Windsor Spring Road: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
  • Warren County Health Department, 565 Legion Drive, Warrenton: 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.

South Carolina vaccine locations

  • Health Force LLC will offer free COVID-19 vaccinations on Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Saluda High School, 160 Ivory Key Road. Health Force will also offer rapid COVID-19 testing on site to those interested. Participants will have their choice of the three available vaccines.   • There are periodic appointments available at AU Health’s clinic at Aiken Technical College.
  • Bamberg Family Practice in Bamberg is offering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to the public on Thursdays from 2-5 p.m., first-come, first-served every week, with scheduled return appointments for the Moderna vaccine.
  • North Augusta Pediatrics is offering the Moderna vaccine. Call 803-510-0007.
