COVID-19 vaccine: Where you can get a shot in 2-state region

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - As the COVID-19 vaccine continues to be distributed, many are beginning to wonder where they’ll be able to receive it. Anyone age 16 and over can be vaccinated, although not all brands are approved for people under 18.

South Carolina vaccine locations

  • There are periodic appointments available at AU Health’s clinic at Aiken Technical College.
  • Bamberg Family Practice in Bamberg is offering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to the public on Thursdays from 2-5 p.m., first-come, first-served every week, with scheduled return appointments for the Moderna vaccine.
  • North Augusta Pediatrics is offering the Moderna vaccine. Call 803-510-0007.

Georgia vaccination locations

  • The Richmond County Health Department is adjusting the hours of its south Augusta COVID-19 vaccination clinic at 2420 Windsor Spring Road. The new hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk-ups are welcome, but you can schedule an appointment for faster service by visiting https://gta-vras.powerappsportals.us/en-US. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available. For questions, call 706-721-5800.
  • Augusta Worship Center has partnered with Walgreens for their project “Backpack Blessings.” The church will offer local residents and their children 12 and older access to free COVID-19 Pfizer vaccinations starting July 31 as preparation for the beginning of the 2021-22 school year. The first dose will be administered on July 31 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the second dose will be completed on Aug. 28 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Augusta Worship Center, at 3840 Mike Padgett Highway.
  • There are periodic appointments available at AU Health’s vaccination hub in Augusta, 2834 Washington Road. Sign up at https://www.augustahealth.org/vaccine. All upcoming clinics will be from 1-4:30 p.m. Pfizer second-dose clinics: July 27, July 29, Aug. 5, Aug. 12.
  • Augusta University Health has opened a periodic pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in south Augusta at Diamond Lakes Regional Park, 4335 Windsor Spring Road. You can check state eligibility requirements at augustahealth.org/vaccine prior to registration and all registrations must be completed in advance on the AU Health website. Walk-up and phone appointments are not available.
  • The Columbia County Health Department is offering vaccinations from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays at 1930 William Few Parkway. Appointments are not required, but those who want to make an appointment can visit Ecphd.com/schedule-online. The Pfizer vaccine is available for ages 12 years and older and the Moderna vaccine is available for ages 18 and older. For questions and additional information call: 706-721-5800
  • The Lincoln County Health Department is now offering back-to-school vaccinations and COVID vaccinations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 176 N. Peachtree St. in Lincolnton. To schedule an appointment, call 706-359-3154. Also note that a meningitis booster vaccination is now a requirement for Georgia students entering the 11th grade.
  • The Jefferson County Health Department is now providing the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals 18 years of age and older from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays. Vaccination is available at the Jefferson County Armory at 1841 Highway 24 West in Louisville. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available.   • Medical Specialists Inc. is offering COVID-19 vaccinations at 305 Jones Ave. in Waynesboro. Call 706-554-5147 for an appointment.
